Happy Birthday J. Michael Tatum!

Today just so happens to be the birthday of J. Michael Tatum, the English voice of Black Butler’s Sebastian. He’s so awesome, Tatum arranged it so years ago he could be born on Sebastian Appreciation Weekend. Well, ok, maybe it didn’t QUITE work that way.

In all seriousness, did you know that  Mr. fantabulous J. Michael Tatum, suffered from a speech impediment as a child? To hear the story, and hear how his speech therapy helped to create the voice of Sebastian, check out the video above (specifically the 6:05 mark) from a recent tour by Wong Fu productions at FUNimation Entertainment.

P.S. If you want to share your love of Sebastian this weekend on Tumblr, when you go to post your content, don’t forget to add the keyword tag of “Sebastian Appreciation Weekend” for a chance to be featured by us!

After watching Black Butler I think in a british accent.

Hi hatsuhannaharu, did you see how the voice actor of Sebastian, J Michael Tatum, acquired that accent?

Sebastian from Black Butler

hatsuhannaharu:

I’m rather enjoying it, if I do say so myself.

BLACK BUTLER + HETALIA = FAN-GASM.

Did you know that the voice of Ciel, Brina Palencia, is also the voice of Chibitalia in Hetalia? Similarly, the English voice of our hellish butler Sebastian, J. Michael Tatum, is also the voice of France in the historically inspired romp.

To celebrate the connections between these two shows, and we know that many of our Black Butler fans also happen to love Hetalia (especially all you shippers out there), here’s our latest trailer for Hetalia World Series 2 (Season 4) Official Trailer posted!

MMM, pasta. Why am I suddenly hungry? I wonder if Sebastian will eat Ciel’s soul as a pasta dish some day?

Here’s a photo feautirng some of the English voice cast for Black Butler. On the left is J. Michael Tatum, the voice of Sebastian. On the right is Colleen Clinkenbeard, the voice of Angela in Black Butler Season One, as well as the Line Producer for the entire show. If you’ve ever had the chance to meet them in person, you know just how gracious and kind they are to their fans.
