At around the 27:00 minute mark of last night’s Season Three premiere episode ‘On Thin Ice’ of TNT’s Sci-Fi series Falling Skies, the character of Ben Mason and his friend are discussing manga and comics. While Black Butler is never mentioned directly, I think based on the dialogue its rather obvious that they were talking about Black Butler.
Sometimes anime, work, and vacation have an odd way of overlapping. I just got back from a more than 2 week vacation in England. While there I was able to visit Fortnum and Mason, a store that’s been around since 1707 and is where the Queen shops. The entire first floor is dedicated to teas, coffees, and sweets. So I picked up some cookies and an assortment of teas to bring back to my fellow FUNimation employees to enjoy.
Of course a Black Butler fan may recognize the store, Fortnum and Mason for another reason. In the second episode of the series Ciel is served tea from this British landmark.
I also got to visit Tower Bridge, which we see under construction at the end of Season One in the Black Butler animated series.

This weekend I was roaming around Anime Fest in Dallas, when we happened upon this group of Black Butler cosplayers. And no it’s not just you, in some cases you are seeing double, or triples of a character. ^_^
